Newcastle United’s players have cancelled their own Christmas party in light of the team’s losing run.
Rafa Benitez’s side have taken one point from eight matches and have fallen from fourth to 16th in the table.
And a delegation led by captain Jamaal Lascelles explained to the manager this week that they had scrapped their annual booze-up.
‘The players have decided to cancel their Christmas party because they have taken responsibility and think it’s important to focus on football,’ explained Benitez ahead of Saturday's trip to Arsenal.
