Newcastle United will be without strikers Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle for the visit of Brighton after the club decided to follow FA guidelines on concussion.

Both players were forced off with head injuries during Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup.

Boss Rafa Benitez had expected them to be fit for Saturday's game, but the club have confirmed they will be following the advice of the FA, who state a player should not return for at least six days.
