Newcastle have reportedly opened talks with Philippe Coutinho over a potential summer move.
The Brazilian midfielder is set to return to Barcelona at the end of June after Bayern decided against signing him permanently following his loan spell.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle, who could soon be taken over by Saudi Arabia PIF, are eager to sign Coutinho and are aiming to press ahead with a move.
There is much interest in Coutinho, who has also been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
