Newcastle loan signing Islam Slimani will miss the next three matches after suffering a setback in training and it is likely he will not make his debut until the end of March at the earliest.
The Leicester striker arrived on Tyneside on deadline day nursing a thigh strain and was unavailable for his first two games.
Slimani returned to full training last week but broke down on Tuesday and manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed he will be absent for at least a fortnight, taking in the trips to Bournemouth and Liverpool and the visit of Southampton.

After that Newcastle's away fixture at Spurs will be postponed if the Londoners beat Rochdale in their FA Cup replay, meaning Slimani will not be seen in a black-and-white shirt until the home match against Huddersfield on March 31.
