Newcastle are among the clubs watching Young Boys striker Yannick Toure.
Born in Senegal, the 17-year-old now has a Swiss passport and has played for the country at Under-17 level.
He is yet to sign a new contract with Young Boys and would be available for a compensation fee set by FIFA.
Toure is rated as one of Switzerland’s brightest attacking prospects and is set for promotion to the national Under 19 squad.
Newcastle are also considering a move for Manchester United's out-of-favour left back Luke Shaw.
