There is growing confidence that Anthony Elanga’s proposed move to Newcastle will go through this week after progress on some of the issues delaying the deal.
Mail Sport understands that an agreement in the region of £55million between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle has not been the reason for the hold-up, and nor would personal terms be a problem.
Rather, some details involving intermediaries have slowed the transfer and left it in doubt coming out of the weekend.
However, the intervention of another intermediary is thought to have helped resolve some of the blockages, with hope that the move can now proceed.
