The majority of Newcastle United’s recruitment team remain on furlough after just two scouts were recalled to work amid uncertainty over the club’s future.
Sportsmail revealed last month that head of recruitment Steve Nickson had been brought off the government's job retention scheme at the request of manager Steve Bruce.
However, we understand that only one analyst has since joined him, much to the frustration of other members of the scouting operation, who have been unable to work since March.

When an employee is placed on furlough they are temporarily put on a leave of absence and not paid, although they remain on the payroll, meaning that they do not lose their job.
