Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul is to sign a new contract with the club before joining Ajax on loan.
The Holland international is wanted as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen who is joining Barcelona.
Krul has one year left on contract but will sign a one-year extension before moving to Amsterdam for the season.
Krul is on around £60,000 per week and Newcastle will have to subsidise part of his salary while with Ajax.
