Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is in talks with Newcastle United in a move that would see him reunite with Eddie Howe.
Ramsdale, 27, has emerged as a target for the Magpies after they missed out on James Trafford, who instead opted to re-join Manchester City from Burnley.
Mail Sport understands that Newcastle have not yet launched a bid for Ramsdale, with a loan-to-buy bid being a potential option.
That would see him serve as a direct replacement or provide competition to current No.1 Nick Pope, who has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
