Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez would be happy to mentor Steven Gerrard if the former Liverpool captain chooses to go into coaching.
Gerrard announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday - ending an illustrious 18-year playing career, of which the highlight was undoubtedly Liverpool's remarkable Champions League triumph in 2005.
Benitez masterminded the Reds to victory in Istanbul in what was his first season in charge of the Anfield club and the Spaniard, who has led Newcastle to the top of the Championship table this season, says he would be happy share his wisdom with Gerrard.
