Rafa Benitez has been charged with misconduct by the FA after he questioned why Huddersfield-born official Andrew Madley was appointed to take charge of Newcastle's fixture with Preston.
The Magpies won 4-1 to clinch promotion to the Premier League but defeat would have let Huddersfield - Madley's hometown team - back into the race for second position in the Championship.
Ahead of the game on April 24, Benitez said: 'I was really surprised with that situation.

'In Spain this thing doesn't happen.
