Newcastle United are exploring a move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
The 30-year-old England international has one year left on contract but Burnley value him highly.
Pope has had interest from a number of clubs but a move to Newcastle appeals, particularly with the new investment and progress made under manager Eddie Howe.
Newcastle have been looking for quality competition for Martin Dubravka and have discussed Manchester United's Dean Henderson, Alphonse Areola and Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Their preference has been to strike either a loan or cheaper initial fee to fall in line with their FFP restrictions.
