Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund are weighing up a move for former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Lukas Raeder.
The 6ft 5in German is a free agent and has been training with Southampton but has failed to agree terms with the south coast club.
The 23-year-old, who was deputy to Manuel Neuer and won the FIFA Club World Cup with the Bundesliga giants in 2013, has had two spells working with Southampton over a ten day period this summer and they were open to offering him a deal to increase competition for Fraser Forster.

Raeder does not turn 24 until December so also qualifies to play for U23 development squads.
