Newcastle 1-1 Royal Antwerp: Matt Ritchie scores before Dwight Gayle misses late penalty in 135-minute tie

Newcastle United brought an end to their four-day warm weather training camp in Spain with a friendly against Belgian side Royal Antwerp, which ended 1-1 after three 45-minute periods.

With three weeks separating their last and next Premier League game, Rafa Benitez looked to keep his team match fit and named a 22-man squad for the game at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia.

Matt Ritchie put the Magpies ahead with a fine goal after 40 minutes before Alexander Corryn drew Antwerp level. Newcastle were then granted an opportunity to win it in the 128th minute when Ayoze Perez was hauled down in the box.
