Newcastle 0-1 Everton: Wayne Rooney stabs home to pile more misery of Rafa Benitez's men as Toffees continue to dazzle under new boss Sam Allardyce

Everton continue to pick up the points under new boss Sam Allardyce after edging out Newcastle at St James' Park.

Wayne Rooney was 'Johnny-on-the-spot' as he reacted fastest from a Karl Darlow save to stab home for just two yards out to put the visitors into the lead.

Ashley Williams missed a golden opportunity to consolidate their lead but it didn't matter in the end as Rafa Benitez's side slumped to another home loss. Everton, on the other hand, have well and truly turned a corner.
