Moussa Sissoko has been allowed to leave the France squad to complete a move from Newcastle, with Tottenham said to be close to a deal.
The France national team's official Twitter account confirmed the midfielder has been granted time away to tie up a deadline day transfer.
According to reports, Spurs have already made an offer and the Magpies are willing to lower their price to £30million in order to see him leave St James’ Park before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Sissoko has been continually linked with an exit since Newcastle's relegation from the Premier League in May.
