Wayne Rooney's second-half penalty at Anfield rescued a point for Everton in Sunday's Merseyside derby and helped the Blues' halt their losing run against their rivals.
Liverpool had won the previous three clashes between the two sides and looked set to retain local bragging rights until Dejan Lovren's foul on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It was the fourth time Jurgen Klopp's side have surrendered a lead already this Premier League season. The Reds have led in 12 matches and gone on to win only eight of those games, drawing the other four.
