Leeds United are among a clutch of Championship sides who have held preliminary talks over a move for German midfielder Patrick Erras.
The 25-year old, who was a target for Newcastle United last year, is out of contract at Nurnberg this summer and that has alerted English clubs who have watched him in recent seasons.
Brentford, QPR, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers have also spoken about the 6ft 5ins.
Erras who has played 18 times this season and scored twice, including one in his side’s 1-1 draw at Arminia last week.
