Ipswich targeting loan deal for Newcastle's Lewis Miley as Kieran McKenna looks to bolster midfield after failed Hayden Hackney move

Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Miley has emerged as a loan target for Ipswich Town.

Manager Kieran McKenna is looking for quality to bolster his engine room after seeing an ambitious £20m move for Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney fall through.

Miley is understood to be on a list alongside Bournemouth's Lewis Cook and Philip Billing.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has just brought in Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa for £39million but still believes he is light in midfield after the departure of Sean Longstaff to Leeds.
