Human Rights Foundation become the latest campaign group to urge Premier League to block £300m Saudi-led takeover of Newcastle that will cause 'irreparable reputational harm'

The Human Rights Foundation have become the latest campaign group to write to Premier League chief executive Richard Masters condemning the takeover of Newcastle.

Garry Kasparov, HRF's chairman, said: 'This deal would severely undermine the Premier League's support of human rights and promotion of the right messages and cause irreparable reputational harm to your brand.

'HRF implores you to urgently consider cancelling this deal, recognise its grave consequences, and uphold the principle that sport is not merely a business, but also an influential medium that should not be hijacked by a brutal dictatorship.'
