Former Newcastle striker Nile Ranger has penned a long-term contract at Southend.
The 25-year-old arrived at Roots Hall in the summer and has made a big impact at the Essex club.
His performances have impressed manager Phil Brown, who has decided to hand him a deal which lasts until 2020.
Despite being injured for six weeks, Rangers has made nine appearances in League one, scoring twice.
As well as also contributing a number of assists, Southend are yet to taste defeat when the former England youth international has been in the starting line-up.
