Everton's Cenk Tosun edges closer to Besiktas return after Carlo Ancelotti named just eight subs in Newcastle defeat with striker, Bernard and Jonas Lossl working on January exits

Everton striker Cenk Tosun is closing on a return to Besiktas after further talks on Saturday.

Everton named only eight substitutes for Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle United instead of their allotted nine as Tosun, Bernard and goalkeeper Jonas Lossl discussed their departures from the club.

Tosun joined Everton in 2018 from Besiktas for a sizeable £27million, but has failed to make himself a first-team regular under successive managers. He has scored a meagre nine goals in 49 Premier League games for the Toffees.
