Everton have made a late move for unsettled Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, sources close to the Merseyside club have told ESPN FC.
Tottenham Hotspur had been hoping to sign Sissoko on deadline day, but were put off by Newcastle's £30 million valuation of the France international.
That has cleared the way for Everton to move for Sissoko, and the Merseysiders are in talks with the Championship side as they attempt to agree a fee.
Sissoko has been given permission to leave France's training camp to return to England to hold talks with Everton officials.
