Crystal Palace have made a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou in a bid to boost their defensive options.
Roy Hodgson has been frustrated by a lack of transfer activity after losing five senior players during the summer.
Palace have held talks with Torino defender Perr Schuurs, but the move has stalled amid interest from Napoli and Newcastle United.
Now they are looking at signing Kossounou on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy next summer, according to the Telegraph.
The centre-back made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen last season, while he also turned out for the club in the Champions League and the Europa League.
