The world of football has paid tribute to former Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote after he passed away on Monday.
Tiote collapsed in a training session with Chinese club Beijing Enterprises, leading to an outpouring of sorrow on social media from former team-mates and other footballers alike.
His ex-Newcastle colleague Demba Ba was among the first players to react to the sad news.
He wrote: 'May Allah gives grant you jannah (Paradise) brother Tiote'.
