PCP Capital, the firm run by British financier Amanda Staveley, is interested in making a bid for Newcastle United, according to reports.
Reuters claim Staveley, who has recently been spotted in the stands at St James' Park, values the Premier League club at around £300million.
That is considerably less than the asking price slapped on the Magpies by wantaway owner Mike Ashley, who is looking for £400m.

Ashley released a statement earlier this week in which he confirmed that he would listen to offers for the club he has controlled for a decade, with the aim of selling up by Christmas.
