Alexander Isak has arrived for his Liverpool medical after they agreed a £125million deal for him - and the striker will complete his move on deadline day.
Talks accelerated on Sunday night and an agreement between the clubs is now in place, with the Swede set to sign a six-year contract.
Sources close to Newcastle say the overall deal will be worth £130m to them and the sale has been sanctioned by the club’s Saudi owners.
The Magpies had been open to exploring his exit all summer, after Isak made it clear at the end of last season that he wanted to leave.
