Yankees Weekly: Yankees Changing Nickname To The Bronx Brawlers After Fight With Boston

We are two weeks into the start of the 2018 MLB season and the New York Yankees aren't exactly playing as well as everyone expected. The Yankees are 6-6 and third in the AL East.  New York is batting .249, which is the eighth best batting average in the MLB. They rank fifth in home runs with 16, and have scored 65 times, which is the third most in the league. The issue for the Bronx Bombers this year has been pitching, with a 4.54 ERA ranking them in the bottom 10 of the league. Luckily for the Yankees, it's a long season and they have 150 games remaining to show the world why it's World Series or bust this season.

Last Week:
The Yankees have been struggling of late, going 2-4 in their last six games. Losing their series to the Baltimore Orioles1-3 and currently splitting the series with the Boston Red Sox. In those six games slugger, Giancarlo Stanton has seven hits, four RBIs, but 11 strikeouts. He has been playing better the last two games, but still needs to improve.

The most interesting thing to happen to the Yankees this past week, occurred last night when the Yankees and Red Sox benches cleared and a brawl broke out. The fight broke out because Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin was hit by Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly and proceeded to slam his bat and go after Kelly.
