Shohei Ohtani Pop Quiz
Ohtani is the prized player this offseason and he wants to land in the perfect situation with a team that fits him the best. On Friday all 30 major league teams received a memo from the representative for Ohtani asking interested clubs to answer a series of questions that will help determine which team Ohtan will join.

Nez Balelo, co-head of CAA Baseball and Ohtani’s lead agent released the memo. Inside the memo, each team was asked to do the following; evaluate Ohtani’s talent as a hitter and as a pitcher.player performance philosophies, medical training, team facilities, spring training and minor league facilities.

He also asked for a vision for how Ohtani could integrate into the team’s organization, to detail resources for Ohtani’s cultural assimilation into the team’s city,  tell Ohtani why the team is a desirable place to play. Ohtani knows he is a prized asset this offseason and wants to land in the best situation possible.

Alex Cobb in Pinstripes?
According to MLB insider Peter Gammons, the Yankees will be heavily involved in the race to sign ex-Rays right-handed starter Alex Cobb and heading into Thanksgiving the top two clubs are the Cubs and Yankees.

Cobb has spent his entire career Rays and since debuting in 2011, Cobb owns a 3.50 ERA. That work has come across 700 career innings, and 115 starts. Cobb did, however, miss all of 2015 recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Alex Cobb is a fine major league pitcher. Not great, but good. Giglio provides the details in his piece:

Masahiro Tanaka Future
Masahiro Tanaka made the somewhat surprising decision a few weeks ago to stay with the Yankees. This is surprising that Tanaka neglected to use the opt-out clause that was included in the seven-year, $155 million contracts he signed four years ago.

He is opting out to a three year $67 million commitment which is still good considering Tanaka had a 4.74 ERA last season. Still, many people around the league were curious to see what he could have made if he would have tested Free Agency.
