Yankees Rumors: New York's World Series Odds Improved Since Trade Deadline

Our Yankees rumors update for August 7th:

The New York Yankees were bashed by many media members (and some of their own fans) after a relatively quiet trade deadline, but their improving World Series odds may quiet some of the negativity at least for now.

According to Bovada Sportsbook, the Yankees are now 10/1 to hoist the trophy -- tied for 4th in Major League Baseball with the revamped Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Nationals.

The Kansas City Royals (9/2), Los Angeles Dodgers (7/1), and St. Louis Cardinals (8/1) are the only teams ahead of the Yankees on the list.

"Back in early July when the odds were released, the AL East was still pretty bunched up," SBNation's Caitlin Rogers noted on Friday. "The Yankees, Orioles and Blue Jays' odds were all 20/1, while the Rays sat at 25/1 and the Red Sox were at 28/1. After an incredible July, the Yankees have finally separated from the pack a little bit."

The Yankees are 61-46, 4.5 games ahead of the surging Blue Jays for the AL East lead coming into Friday's play.
