Yogi Berra’s family will say goodbye in a private memorial

Loved ones plan to say goodbye to late Yankees legend Yogi Berra in an intimate private memorial next week, officials at his museum said Wednesday.

The funeral will probably be in Montclair, NJ, and resemble the small gathering that was held for Berra’s wife Carmen, who died last year, according to the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center.

Berra was 90 when he died Tuesday night. He’s survived by three sons, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

“The outpouring of emotion that we have witnessed is a testimonial to how significant an impact he had not just as an athlete but as a human being,” said museum CEO Kevin Peters.
