Like the final rounds of a heavyweight fight, the Yankees and Twins traded blows in the late innings of their exhausting epic. Didi Gregorius, Miguel Sano and Aaron Hicks all received congratulations at various points, believing that they had delivered the knockout blow.

Instead, it was Gleyber Torres who claimed those honors in one of the wildest games of the season. The infielder’s 10th-inning RBI single off Kohl Stewart helped the Yankees bounce back from Aroldis Chapman’s blown save, and Hicks punctuated it with an amazing diving grab for the final out in a 14-12 victory on Tuesday evening at Target Field.
