Yankees’ stud prospect Deivi Garcia promoted to Triple-A

Deivi Garcia, who some talent evaluators outside the organization believe is the Yankees’ top prospect, was promoted from Trenton (Double-A) to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

Garcia, a 20-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic, went a combined 4-5 with a 3.01 ERA in a combined 14 games. In 68²/u2083 innings Garcia allowed 50 hits, struck out 114 and walked 33.

Since the most innings Garcia has worked is the 74 he threw last year it’s not likely he gets to the big leagues this season but could be used in a deal to land a starter or reliever before the July 31 trade deadline.
