Yankees shut down Dellin Betances in another injury setback

Of all the Yankees injured list inhabitants, the case of Dellin Betances perhaps been the most frustrating.

And on Tuesday, it only got worse.

The Yankees are shutting down their back-end reliever for a few weeks due to a low-grade lat strain, manager Aaron Boone announced after his club demolished the Mets, 12-5, to open the Subway Series.

Betances underwent an MRI exam on Monday after experiencing soreness — the popular pitcher hasn’t pitched this season since being shelved in spring training with right shoulder impingement.

This time, it turned out to be a lat strain.
