Yankees send down prospects Florial, Andujar

TAMPA, Fla. -- Miguel Andujar and Estevan Florial were two of the Yankees' most exciting prospects this spring, and despite high hopes for their respective futures, the touted duo departed big league camp prior to Sunday's game against the Marlins at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Andujar's bid to serve as the Opening Day third baseman concluded as the Yankees optioned the 23-year-old to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Within the hour, Andujar was also announced as a recipient of the 2017 Kevin Lawn Award, indicative of the club's top Minor League position player.
