Yankees’ LHP Carlos Rodon headed to IL with forearm strain

Yankees lefty Carlos Rodon has a left forearm strain and will be shut down for 7-10 days. General manager Brian Cashman also added Rodon will start the season on the injured list.

Cashman also added that relievers Tommy Kahnle and Lou Trivino would also start the season on the IL. Kahnle is battling biceps tendinitis that he expects will keep him out for a month. Trivino has a strained right elbow ligament and no timetable.

This isn’t a great look for the Yankees at first blush, especially with what we know now about the Frankie Montas trade last year.
