Yankees knew they dodged a bullet after Gleyber Torres scare

BALTIMORE — The Yankees got a scare when Gleyber Torres was drilled in the right wrist during an at-bat in the sixth inning.
The second baseman, who was named AL Rookie of the Month for May, stayed in the game after being hit by the 94 mph sinker from Miguel Castro.

“Obviously, it’s scary any time you see it around there, but it looks like he checked out OK,” manager Aaron Boone said after the Yankees’ 8-5 victory over the Orioles on Saturday. “He had no issues staying in the game. We dodged a bullet there, obviously.
