NEW YORK -- Because of injuries and players who needed a day off, manager Aaron Boone had to rework the Yankees' lineup Sunday. Right away, it worked. Even without Didi Gregorius and Gary Sanchez, among others, the Yanks put together a five-run first inning against the Orioles.
The Yankees sent 10 men to the plate, knocking out O's starter Mike Wright Jr. on a double by No. 9 hitter Ronald Torreyes, playing shortstop in Gregorius' place. The other big hit was a two-run single by Miguel Andujar, who was playing third base in place of the injured Brandon Drury.
