Yankees In the Mix to Sign Ike Davis

Ike Davis is expected to sign a minor-league contract shortly. The #Yankees are in the mix.

Davis, who will turn 29 just before the start of the season is probably viewed by the Yankees as a fill-in option for Greg Bird, who as we learned earlier is out for the duration of 2016. Similar to Bird, Davis can be used as a left-handed bat off the bench who can also spell Mark Teixeira at first and Alex Rodriguez at DH when both need an off-day.
