It feels like it’s been weeks since watching a Yankee game was fun. Well, watching Deivi Garcia step up tonight to put a halt to the Yankees’ latest losing streak was a joy. After seeing the team slog lifelessly through their late-summer schedule while slipping back to .500, the top prospect injected some life into a club that desperately needed it.
The Yankees defeated the Blue Jays 7-2 to stave off a sweep and move to 22-21 on the year. They still have plenty of work to do to truly stabilize after a nightmarish stretch, but at least for one day, Yankees baseball was fun again.
