Yankees game 93: Home runs huge in win

Baltimore Orioles 3 – New York Yankees 4

The Yankees big bats come through in tonight’s win.

After a scoreless first inning that featured an unassisted double play by Stephen Drew, supporting Ivan Nova, the Yankees offense gave their starter room to work.

Jacoby Ellsbury started the bottom of the first with a double down the right field line. Brett Gardner hit a single to center field and Ellsbury easily scored to put the Yankees ahead. Then, after the first out, Mark Teixeira kept the ball fair down the right field line for a two-run home run to increase the Yankees lead to three.
