Yankees fall to Indians after 16 innings

CLEVELAND - Joe Girardi boiled the Yankees' lost weekend at the plate against Toronto down to a "few bad days," ones he didn't see enduring much longer.

"The way we've seen them hit during the course of the year," Girardi said Tuesday afternoon, "tells you that it's not going to be like this the rest of the year."

The Yankees did manage to break out offensively -- using that phrase generously -- a bit Tuesday night but it went for naught as Andrew Miller flushed a two-run lead in the 10th inning, helping to send the Bombers to an eventual 5-4 16-inning walk-off loss to the Indians in front of 23,618 at Progressive Field.
