Yankees’ Edwin Encarnacion has been hot since return from IL

BOSTON — A month on the IL with a fractured wrist hasn’t slowed Edwin Encarnacion.

A Yankees lineup that had been shut down Friday got a four-run outburst in the fourth inning of Saturday’s 5-1 win over the Red Sox. And the biggest blow came from Encarnacion.

“When he gets hot, he is one of the best hitters in the game,’’ said J.A. Happ, who played with Encarnacion in Toronto and tossed 6 ¹/u2083 scoreless innings on Saturday in his second consecutive excellent performance.

“I haven’t seen many like him when he gets hot,’’ the lefty said.
