The Yankees had their chances Friday night against the Mariners.
There was first and second, no one out in the fourth inning before three straight strikeouts. The same setup occurred an inning later and the Yankees couldn’t even advance the runners.
If that wasn’t enough, the Yankees loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth for Mark Teixeira, who was facing Vidal Nuno.
With is team trailing by three runs, Teixeira grounded out to short to waste yet another opportunity.
When it was over, the Yankees had dropped their third straight game, 7-1, to a Seattle team that had lost five of six coming in.
