Yankees can’t figure out Andrew Heaney, fall to Angels, 2-1

ANGELS 2, YANKEES 1

ANAHEIM - Maybe the Yankees should try letting their pitchers hit. They can't be any worse than the guys they've been sending up the past three days.

The Yankees' bats were quiet for a third straight game, wasting a good performance by Ivan Nova as the Angels took a 2-1 victory in front of 42,036 at Angel Stadium.

Rookie lefthander Andrew Heaney limited the Yankees to one run on two hits, his lone mistake coming on Mark Teixeira's solo homer in the second. Brett Gardner's two-out single in the third was the Yankees' only other hit against the Angels' top prospect.
