The Yankees will be calling up Bryan Mitchell, and the right-hander could start Saturday against the Tigers, The Post’s Joel Sherman reports.
The 26-year-old is 4-5 with a 2.79 ERA for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre this season. Mitchell made three appearances (one start) for the Yankees last August and September, pitching to a 2.45 ERA over 11 innings.
Nathan Eovaldi is scheduled to start Saturday, on three days’ rest, following a disastrous outing this week in which he allowed eight runs in two-thirds on an inning.
