The Yankees are going back to their Triple-A well.
Deep breaths: This time, it’s not because of another injury.
Breyvic Valera will make his Yankees debut at second base against the Rays on Sunday. The 27-year-old’s call up comes as DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres were given off days ahead of their All-Star appearances this week.
Valera has been on fire for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since being claimed off waivers from the Giants in May.
In 50 games with the RailRiders, Valera has slashed .348/.419/.564 along with nine home runs, 10 doubles and 31 RBIs.
