Yankees anticipate bone bruise will sideline Mark Teixeira for several days

Mark Teixeira doesn't appear headed for the disabled list, but GM Brian Cashman indicated Tuesday the first baseman, suffering from a bone bruise incurred Monday night, could be down for the next several days at least.

"Is it a DL?" Cashman said he asked the team trainer, Steve Donohue. "He said, 'I don't think so.' All I can tell you now is he doesn't have a break."

Teixeira fouled a ball off his right knee area in Monday night's sixth inning and was immediately pinch run for after drawing a walk in the at-bat. He underwent X-rays after the game that came back negative.
