Seven Yankees relievers pitched a combined 9 1/3 innings in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Indians, which lasted 16 innings and five hours and four minutes. They'll add two fresh arms in Goody and Capuano, who is 0-4 with a 6.97 ERA in 16 appearances, including four starts, for the Yankees this season.
Goody made two appearances for the Yankees earlier this season. The 24-year-old is 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA in eight appearances for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year.
This is the second time in two weeks the Yankees have designated Jones off their roster; they also did so on July 31 and re-signed him on Aug.
