The big righty throws 103 mph, dominated Low-A Charleston and has been good at High-A Tampa. Vice president of player development Gary Denbo has said he thinks Acevedo will climb quickly through the system because of his improved command and because of his sharpened breaking stuff. Acevedo is one of those pie-in-the-sky talent guys but so rarely do that actually reach their ceiling. Acevedo has also been considered a future closer because of his difficulty repeating his delivery and his heat.
